Different induction of biogenic amine accumulation during cold acclimation in Triticeae genotypes with varying freezing tolerance

چکیده

Abstract The appropriate timing of the accumulation biogenic amines is very important during cold acclimation due to their direct protective role and involvement in signaling processes. time course changes amount six them was compared a 3-week period freezing tolerant sensitive genotype rye, barley wheat. In general, greater faster cold-induced increase amine content observed genotypes three species ones. This change quick case putrescine, spermidine cadaverine reaching maximum after days freezing-tolerant rye genotype. There continuous spermine tyramine contents whole wheat while nearly constant levels were detected one. these two exhibited positive correlation with level tolerance each five sampling points. Based on correlations, coordinated adjustment studied occurred which could contribute efficient adaptation cold. addition, earlier induction may better acclimation.

Freezing Tolerance of Chickpea Genotypes in Controlled Conditions

Lack of chickpea cultivars tolerant to extreme freezing is a limiting factor for autumn planting of this crop in cold areas. In this study, 58 Kabuli-type chickpea genotypes and a control (an international sensitive genotype) were planted in pots and first exposed to -10°C and then to -15°C after being acclimated in natural conditions. No destructive effect of -10°C was observed in plants. So, ...

Plasma Membrane Lipids Associated with Genetic Variability in Freezing Tolerance and Cold Acclimation of Solanum Species.

Simultaneous comparisons were made between a freezing-tolerant, cold-acclimating (CA) wild potato species (Solanum commersonii) and a freezing-sensitive, nonacclimating (NA) cultivated species (Solanum tuberosum). Comparative studies allowed differentiation of plasma membrane lipid changes associated with increased freezing tolerance following CA from lipid changes that can result from metaboli...

Anthocyanin accumulation in apple and peach shoots during cold acclimation

Experiments were conducted to investigate the effects of low temperatures on anthocyanin accumulation in apple and peach shoots. The anthocyanin concentration in both the apple and peach shoots increased rapidly during cold acclimation reaching the peak value in early December. The anthocyanin might be accumulated in shoots as a result of leucoanthocyanidin conversion. When apple and peach shoo...

Flavonoids are determinants of freezing tolerance and cold acclimation in Arabidopsis thaliana

In plants from temperate climates such as Arabidopsis thaliana low, non-freezing temperatures lead to increased freezing tolerance in a process termed cold acclimation. This process is accompanied by massive changes in gene expression and in the content of primary metabolites and lipids. In addition, most flavonols and anthocyanins accumulate upon cold exposure, along with most transcripts enco...
